Ronald's baptism. Me, Ronald & Elder Leyba

Cameron's Letter JUne 27, 2011

Hello my Family!!!
My week was pretty good! Saturday we had the Baptism of one of our investigators Ronald! He is awesome! He was confirmed yesterday and was ordained to the priesthood!!! He will become a powerfully tool in the Lords hands, I can tell! He might even serve a mission! Elder Leyba is doing good, we are still working on sharing lessons and sometimes have problems communicating. But it is going good, and training is going good as well I am doing good, I am learning things that will help me in many aspects of my life, many of them personal, but it's good!
Sounds like Westlake girls basketball is getting better! That's great! You guys will have to film some games this next season! Could you ask Coach Robinson about how basketball camps are going for them? If you can that would be great! Mr Poper's Penguins eh? I remember reading that book, but I don't remember much about it except that it dealt with penguins. You guys are having alot of fun with youth activities! When is the cabin? I am just wanting to know because I think I might send a letter for ya'll to read to everyone!

Well this week has been good, we had a baptism so that makes it great! We are still trying to get more people to teach, the Pace missionaries gave us a few potentials and we have a lesson with one of them this week and then we are going to try and get some more this week! Umm we set up Jada's baptism (one of Tasha's girls) for July 16th so we will have another baptism coming up soon! We have done more tracting this week and many people just ignore us and don't even open the door or invite us to come to their church. Ronald is awesome! He is really excited that he got baptized and was given the priesthood! Oh! We are painting in a catholic ladys house and one day she just asked for a Book of Mormon! And she has asked alot of questions about the book and the Church! We are going to do more painting an hopefully we can get her coming to church, she came once a couple weeks ago and said she really liked it, so hopefully it is her time to join! Her name is Cheryl. She is very nice, and she gave us both 2 shirts and a couple small souveniers as a "thank you" gift. They were 2XL but we will live with them. Well I think that that is it for this week, I heard that Jamie gets to train soon! That will be awesome! And before we all know it Jamie will be home! Wow!! Oh and could you please tell Brother Hutton that I haven't gotten a letter from him in 3 months, is he ok? Did he get hurt? Well time to say goodbye for this week! I love you guys!!!

Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

Cameron's Letter June 20, 2011

Hello My Family!!!!!!
Emily, you are a funny little girl! You got fast!?! That's really good! And you can block shots?!? You are turning out more and more like me!!! You better stick with basketball all the way through high school! And I knew you'd all love my card! That's why I picked it (well that and that I loved it too! )

Things are going good with Elder Leyba (Lay-ba) we occasionally have small disagreements but other then that things are going good. Yes I have made the potatoes and I really liked them! Thank you for them!

Wow! It sounds like ya'll had a busy week and in Laura's case a bit of a painful week! Hopefully you don't have to pull out any teeth! HAHA!!! Well at least you got some garden in! Sounds like a lot of fun for Father's day! I only have to miss one more!! And good thing that Laura let the wookie win!! HAHA!!!

Well this week was an ok week, they are slowly getting better but we are still in another week without getting any new investigators, but that will change because I have thought of a new door approach! It is very bold!! Well last monday we got a down pour that lasted only about 10-15 minutes (if that). We also had zone conference thursday and it was very good! I use my juggling talent and my skills on the piano! Others said they enjoyed it! Ronald is doing good! We met with him twice, the first time we finished the lessons, and the second time we read in the Book of Mormon with him. He said he really enjoyed that! We are going to read with him some more tonight! I don't have much more to say really but what the fathers got for Father's Day at church were just little fun size candy bars, while the Pace ward were handing out king size candy bars, I won't lie that bugged me a bit, but good thing is is that I have petty much gotten over it. Oh! I forgot to tell you that we are helping a lady paint some rooms in her house, and hopefully we can get her to become an investigator! Thank the Primary for the little letters they sent! They were great!
I love ya'll! Don't let Satan get to ya! He WILL do anything he can to stop this work from progressing! Remain true!
Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

P.S. Sorry this wasn't as long as others, but it has been one of those weeks.
Oh and let me know about whether the Jazz get Jimmer or not! Thanks!!!

Dear Family,
Yes I have amazing sand castle building skills!

Kitty Litter cake!
1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large packages vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared
1 large package vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Roll candies
You'll also need:
1 new kitty litter pan
1 new kitty litter pan liner
1 new pooper scooper
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).
Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.
Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.
Put 3 unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything -- this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.
Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top. For the coup de gras take one Tootsie Roll and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!
Further notes: I had a reader write in saying this recipe only needed half the amount of pudding. I personally liked the cake with the amount given in this recipe. But feel free to use this as a loose guideline, use more or less as you see the need. Also, since the layer of cookies (with the chloropyll green specks, covers the top, you could really use any flavor or flavors or cakes underneath. Last but not least, you can also opt not to crumble the cakes, but rather layer them in the pan with the layers of pudding in between (much like you would layer a trifle into a trifle dish), sprinkle the top layer of pudding with a heavy layer of crumbled cookies. Same effect, different texture entirely to the dessert.

Yes I got a package and a new companion Wednesday and also rain! The package was great thank you so much for everything! Umm I guess the thing that surprised me the most was the Fiber One items, but that's ok they are good! I haven't had a brownie yet but I will! My new companion is Elder Leyba and he is from Idaho in the Boise area. He is a good guy, he still has alot to learn, but he has the desire to get work done and that will be great once we start clicking and getting things going. He is a brand new missionary, fresh out of the MTC. Training is going alright I guess, I'm not sure how well I am doing but I will do the best I can! Yes and no, yes because he would talk alot to investigators and no because with him gone and me training it gives me a great opportunity to grow with talking quicker and making it so I get more comfortable around new people quicker. (I need that) Well when he gets here and if I meet him I will be sure to call him Klinger! :) HAHAHA!!! Just kidding! But that's great! Only 3 or 4 missionaries came out this transfer unfortunately, but I guess next transfer there will be about 16 or so!?!

Yay!!! You loved my card!!! Sounds like you had a pretty good birthday except that Laura doesn't know how to play games without cheating (everyone knows that you let the birthday person win on their birthday! It's almost as bad as not letting the wookie win!)

Ok, I realized this yesterday, when I come back Emily will be of age to go to seminary and she will be going to Stake Dances!!! Tell her to stop growing up!!! Please! Wow it sounds like you guys are starting to get busier lives!

Is Laura getting better at basketball? Because they will need her too! Wow!?! A late start to the garden, but hey at least you are getting it in!

Yeah I can believe that their are alot of missionaries going out, and there will continue to be more! :)
Wow! Hold the phone!! Laura getting her license!! That's unheard of!! No, no Laura that won't do! You aren't that old yet!
Austin is going to be a great missionary!! He is going to convert the President!! First he is going to serve him and then get in with him! :) Man! These are crazy times!!

Well this week was a not too bad week considering that it was transfers wednesday. The first few days we didn't do much missionary work because Elder Adam was packing up things and we were saying goodbye to people. On wednesday Elder Leyba became my new companion, and I took him shopping and let him unpack his things. After that we went out and tried to see some people, but not much success. The days slowly got better the rest of the week. Friday we played rummy with a less active member and some of his friends, and we might get some investigators from it! One is named Lonnie and he is a talker. We went to his house Saturday to talk abut questions he had about the gospel, (while playing pool)*cough*cough* And then another lady we played rummy with asked us if we would help her paint her house, and we are going to do that this friday and saturday. We also taught a lady the Plan of Salvation upon meeting her! She said we could come back and teach her more! We will try that this week! But that's it for my week! I have to agree with Jamie that I have the best family in the WORLD!!!! I love you guys!!
Be great today!!

Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

Cameron's Letter June 6, 2011

Well for a less eventful week it sure sounded pretty eventful.
STOP!!!! Before I continue I have great news! I get to train a new missionary!!! I'm excited! It is gonna be awesome! And the letter that you should get today mom don't open til tomorrow when you are doing your birthday stuff!
So anyway, it's still cold there?!? Wow it's really hot here and it's not humidity, it's dry heat, and it's very unusaul for here so the weather is being weird all over the place! It's crazy!

Emily! Why do you have to fall off the bike?!? You know you can lower the seat right??? haha! You practice playing Risk and when I get back we will see who is better!

Mom you really need to sleep more if you are going to fall asleep in the movies. I heard that Pirates was a pretty good movie! I will wait until I come back to see it. At the end of this next transfer I will have been away for 6 months!!!! That's crazy!! 1/4 of my mission will be complete! Time will keep going as long as I am busy!

Well this week was yet again another slow week for us. There were some highlights. We found Robert again!!! It was great! But I'm afraid he will fall off the map again cuz we still have no way of contacting him!
Ronald is progressing still towards baptism, his date has been pushed back to June 25, hopefully he will continue reading the book of mormon and praying and all the other commitents we have given him!
We were able to get back in with Laura and she is still struggling with her situation, she didn't come to church because she doesn't have a dress to wear, and we told her she doesn't have to come in a dress, but she still wants to have a dress for church.
Allen we haven't seen for 2 weeks and would see him for another week because this wednesday is transfers and we will have to go to Pensacola to get my new companion and it would eat up too many miles if we went out to his house.
Tasha and Kevin are still doing well, we taught them about the sacrament on friday and asked them to try not to talk or sign while the sacrament is being passed, they joked about it for a little but at church they did their best not to talk or sign! And we saw them filling out tithing slips! Tasha says she isn't in that big of a rush to get a divorce because she doesn't want to rush into another marriage. Oh and I don't know if I told you this or not but Kevin kicked Joey out. Sad but he wasn't ready to change and we had a hard time teaching him when we went. Well that's pretty much it, I love you guys! Thank you for all the prayers!!

Love,
Elder Cameron Williams
