Cameron's Letter Oct 31, 2011

Dear Everyone!!!
I got both packages! Thank you very much!! Elder Horning said that I am spoiled! And I figured that! Because how many people's parents send them alot of things and then sends a cake!! Not many!! But you always want us to have good times and good memories!
I glad you had fun celebrating my birthday without me! Nothing much really happened it was a very slow day. And when it was supper time we got Subway and came home to eat it and had cake and ice cream! The cake was REALLY good!!! Thank you again!! The mission rules for Halloween is we have to be in by 7 unless we have a ward party or something like that (which we don't). And we aren't sure if we will get trick or treaters or not because we aren't in the many part of the city and there are only about 10 houses on our road, and only about half have kids. We will still get some candy just in case. I will look for the Mac and Cheese!!

Dang! That stinks that BYU lost! I was hoping they would pull it out! That's good that Westlake won! Will they be in the playoffs? That would be cool!!

Our branch is great! We love them alot! But with our branch being in a very unique/different situation it makes it hard to work with them. Half our branch that comes actively lives outside our boundraies and are on loan for now and the other half of the branch we are going to try and work more with. We have one member who will give us names of people to see, but he looks for names he finds in the phone book that he knows. It's good and all but we are hoping to get a little bit better of referrals from other members who have lived here for a while!

I think that's crazy how many cousins are having kids!?!? And there are more!! There will probably be several more before I come back! Can you believe that in 3 days Jamie will have been gone for 12 months!?! And I am following close behind!

Sounds like you had a tiring weekend mum! I am starting to get tired alot now, but I guess that is life!
Does Emily like the color of her bedroom? Has much progress been made on the basement???

You know, it feels good not being a teenager any more!! I haven't had a 0 in my age since I was 10!! That's weird how much you grow up in 10 years!!

Yeah we figured that this area will be alot of planting seeds and setting up the foundation from which missionary work can be built upon! We have a different style then the former missionaries who were here and we think (this isn't meant to sound prideful) what we they (the former missionaries) did kinda hurt the area because of how they were taught. Now I now it's what they were taught and they were able to get baptisms, but President Jensen wants us to make sure their (the investigators) conversion is complete and that they will remain active! And we are trying to change the "get them baptized quickly to get the number" to "work with them and help them have a complete conversion". That is hard at times! But we keep going!

This week we had a lesson with a new investigator named Monique, and it was a good lesson! She asked some good questions and we were able to answer them! We have another appointment with her on thursday! She didn't like when Elder Horning was trying to commit her to read and pray because she didn't want to lie to us by not reading it when she said she would. So we are praying that she has read! But that is about the only exciting that happened this week (other than my birthday). Well I have a few pictures on here for y'all!

I hope y'all enjoyed the pictures! And I will email ya next week! Same time, same place next week!!I love y'all!!!!!
Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

Cameron's Letter Oct 24, 2011

Hello Family and Friends!!!

That's pretty cool that Manny is coming on his mission here! I found out that another guy I went to Westlake with is already here! I knew it was only a matter of time before someone(s) I knew was going to be coming here!

That's good that you are making new friends Emily! And don't worry about having a boyfriend! Not until you are 35 years old!!! hahahaha!! Ok maybe not that old, but no boyfriends right now!!

Yes I have dried out! No rain lately. Our new investigators are doing... ok... (I'll talk about that in a minute)
Yes I got my mp3 player!! Thank you very much for putting everything on!!! Elder Horning and I love it all! Oh! And in the recording Laura said she was going to see something before me, and I didn't hear what it was so I can't get mad at her just yet! hahaha! ;) But Laura I have LONG arms!!! Mwahahahahaha!!!
I like chocolate covered strawberries and caramel apples!! And I have a request (if possible), do y'all have an home made strawberry jam that y'all could send me? After having that stuff and switching to smucker's is different because the home made jam is in a higher bracket! And I don't wanna fall into the rut! And that is ok if I just get those things! Stickers I was thinking of were maybe like Star Wars, dinosaurs, transformers, just any that y'all think I would like! :) I am not really sure what all we will be doing on my birthday, but we are going to Subway for either lunch or dinner (a member might feed us dinner, but we aren't sure yet).

It sounds like a better week for y'all! That's great that your treatments are done!!! I have kept you in my prayers! That's great that BYU won!!! A good confidence booster before they play TCU!!! That will be a tough game! That's good that y'all are spending time together! "Love is spelt t-i-m-e!!!" I can't wait to get pictures of Emily's room!! You and dad went to a resturant called "Nacho Libre" ?!? That's pretty funny!!! haha!

This was a slow week. We didn't have more that 5 lessons, maybe even no more than 3 or something like that! I don't know why but we aren't having much success. And James dropped us, he said that he wants to stick with the King James and his Baptist belief. And we have had no luck in finding people. On friday (I think) we walked up and down the major road in Alma (we walked about 10ish miles maybe) just to be seen by people, we got alot of people to wave, we got alot of laughs, and a couple of shouts. But the best highlight I'd say would be yesturday we went to see a less active guy named Lesly, and when we pulled up he was outside talking with a (girl)friend and then we realized that she was holding a Plan of Salvation pamphlet! He said that he was telling her about where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going!! It was pretty cool! But then he allowed us to take over and talk with her! We taught her about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon! She thought it was great! Her name is Octavia! And we found out that she doesn't live in our area ( NO!!!!) but in another mission just south of us! So we told her that she could go on mormon.org to look for the local building and to try and get missionaries to talk with her! She said that she never was part of one church and that she would float around to different churches, but she really liked that our church can be found all over! And she wants to join so hopfully the missionaries can get in contact with her!! But that's really all that happened this week.
But I am going to keep going! We are feeling more and more sorrowful about how many people aren't wanting to listen to us! Like the prophets in the scriptures mourning for the harden hearts of the people! But we are going to keep on going! Just like them!

Reading in the Book of Mormon is great!! I love having the scriptures to read!! They bring great comfort to me!! I am in Mosiah 15 now (I am ahead of schedule, I'm not suppose to be at this point until wednesday!) and I love it!! There are some many good examples of scriptures to use in teaching and to lift our spirits because alot of the spiritual things we have had lately have been in companion studies! We have been role playing and going through a new first 12 weeks program for new missionaries and their trainers (even though we aren't either, it has been great to work on some things to get better at!)! Thanks for the scripture reference! We (elder horning and I) need to keep relying on Christ!!
Well I think that will do it for me this week! Thank you for the Birthday wishes! It will be a little different birthday than I am use to!
But I love y'all and can't wait until next week to hear from ya!!

Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

Cameron's Pictures Oct 18, 2011

Me soaking wet!!!
A really cool bumper sticker we saw!!!!!

Cameron's Letter Oct 18, 2011

Howdy Y'all!!!! (I decided to change my greeting!)

Emily: Are you going to be on the GIRLS basketball team??? You better try out!!! When I come home there are alot of things I will want to do, but I will let you know when I come home! But you can work on the things I talked to you about in my letter!

As for James, when we went back we asked him if he had read and he said he hadn't we talked with him some more about the Book of Mormon and he had that same desire to read after we taught. We invited him to church, but he said to come by or call him on Saturday, we weren't able to get there on Saturday so we called, and the number he gave us was a bad number! And we saw him yesturday and he had just gotten home from work when we pulled up and he didn't look very happy to see us, but I don't know. We asked him when we could come by this week to talk more with him. He said Thursday but that might not work out for us.

Yeah, Elder Horning and I get along great! He is probably one of my favorite companions! Lately I have gotten to scaring him like I would scare Emily and Laura (sometimes) and I have gotten him very well!! Mwahahahaha!!!!!

Thank you soooo much for putting those things on my mp3!! I greatly appreciate it! It's ok it took so long, I understand that y'all have been busy! Yay!!! Westlake won!!! That's good!

sounds like you had a fun week mom.... I can't imagine how that would feel! But I keep praying for you!!

yay!! BYU won!!!!! Sounds like they did a good job!! How do you like not having me to help you out with stuff Dad??
Do Laura and Emily help you out with things??
How I miss our ward parties!!! Sounds like y'all are going to be having chicken alot this week!! Haha!!
Haha! That's awesome that the Rentschlers kids said that! That definately makes me feel special!
Thank y'all for the prayers on my behalf! I feel them!

This week was a goodish week... I got caught in the rain 5 times in a week and got soaked about 3 times!! And a couple of times when we came in because of the rain, it would end shortly and then never start up again, we are LOUSY weather men! We would stay inside because we thought it would start up again soon but never would!! And we felt lazy! But the last few days of the week were good! Sunday we found 3 new investigators and we have already seen one of them, His name is Daniel and he (now this isn't to be mean or to degrade him) believes in the "I have to see it to believe it or there has to be physical proof for me to believe it" and "I believe almost everything that is on the internet" kind of guy. He will be a tough one, but if he will read the Book of Mormon he will come to know it's true! And we have given him a Book of Mormon so hopefully he will read it and pray about it! (He looks a little bit like John R. haha or reminds me of him by the way he looks) The other two investigators are Tamela (she is 15) and we are going to go over to her house on Thursday to see if we can get permission to teach her from her parents, and then Martha (I'm not sure how old she is) we will see on Saturday!

We finally got our car back yesturday!! Which is part of the reason why I didn't email much yesturday. The library doesn't open until 12 and we were waiting for Elder Cox (The Fleet Coordinator) to come up from Tallahassee to inspect the car! He didn't show up until about 2:20ish, then we went and got the car and then we went to Pizza Hut for lunch (Elder Cox offered) and by the time we were done at Pizza Hut it was about 4 o'clockish, we came to the library to email but all the computers were taken so we decided we would go shop and then come back. Well a member (Brother Dixon) said that he had food for us so we went and picked it up. He gave us a TON of meat, frozen meals, 4 cases of soda, and a TON of cartons of milk and juices! Then by the time we got back and unloaded all the food it was about 4:50. Elder Horning wanted to go do some emailing, then be out by 6 and finish today. So that's what happened! Sorry haha!

The Book of Mormon is a great book! I love reading it and finding new things in it! I am now in Jarom! Jacob and Enos are both great books!! The allegory of the olive tree is sometimes hard to understand, but it's a cool chapter that pretty much talks about the history of the Israelites! I love testifying of the Book of Mormon because it's completely obvious that it couldn't have been written by someone with a 3rd grade education! I know that it is true!!
Well I think that that will do it! I love y'all and hope y'all have a great week!!!

Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

Cameron's Letter Oct 10, 2011

Dear Family and Friends!

HAPPY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!

I am staying in Alma for the next 6 weeks! My bike tires are doing very well so far! I'm just hoping we don't hit another rash of flat tires! The weather the past 3 days has been very cloudy and it rained a little yesturday and i has rained all today! :( It's a gloomy feeling with the clouds! It is starting to cool off!! I like that!
Thank you very much for the recipe!! I can't wait to make it!!!
Well thank you Emily for being concerned about me!

Yeah my last email was sent to Kamber because she can't recieve snail mail at SUU at I asked her if she would like me to email my weekly email to her and she said yes. So yeah! :)

I don't know why the computer is doing that! haha! I'm not sure what I can do! These computers I don't think are the fastest but they work for emailing.

I can't believe that my birthday is in less than 3 weeks and Halloween will be RIGHT after it and then Thanksgiving will go by, then Christmas (and I get to call!!!!), then New years, and then my year mark!!! That's crazy!!!! Time is flying by!!!

That's great that you were finally able to go back to work mum!!! :) I hope all went well at the doctors appointment! What?!? Laura DROVE to Thanksgiving Point?!?!? That's not normal!! Halloween episodes! Hahhhhhhh! I remember those days! What are y'all gonna be for Halloween???

What?!? The van can't start breaking down!!! It's only 5 years old!
Yay!!!! BYU won!!!!!! They can still do it!!

The Stake got split?!? I guess I figured it would! Will our building be the new stake center? That's great that President Johnson is the Stake President!! At least I will know him when I get back instead of someone completely new that I don't know very well!

Dang Westlake!! Oh well.

Emily you get to feeling better and stop getting rashes!!

This week was another slow week, Tuesday Elder Horning was starting to get dizzy after lunch so we stayed in for 2-3 hours, then he got feeling better and we went out and tried to see a bunch of people but no luck :( and now it's starting to get darker sooner so we now have to come in earlier (because we have been told it is not safe to be out in Alma after dark, so we don't even chance it). The next day we went out in the morning and then came back in for lunch and we got a call that some members were going to bring us food and that they would call when they were on their way from Wal-mart. So since we didn't know when they would call we stayed in, and we waited and waited and waited for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, then we called and they said they would be here in about 30 minutes (we were feeling like we should have gone out and worked for that time!) and they were (they= the Juarez's). Then we had about an hour to go work before we would have to come back and drop off the bikes to go visit some people with our Branch mission leader (Brother Worthington) so we rode to 20th street and when we got there we realized we only had about 20 minutes to knock on doors before we had to go back. And then after we saw people with Bro. Worthington we came back and had coordination meetings for the rest of the night. We have coordination meetings every wednesday from 6 til the end of the night.

Thursday was a little better, we saw a few people. Friday we did service for Sister White, chopping wood and pulling logs to her burn pile and then we came back and had lunch and showered up and then went and saw Bro Dixon (he just went through the temple for the first time!) to talk with him about his trip to the temple! It was great to think back on going to the temple!!! He really liked it! Saturday we did alot of biking! We had to have gone at least 20 miles! And every stop nobody was home! Until came to some members house and get this their last name is Lasseters! Brother Lasseter was working on a car when we came up and we talked with him for a while! And he showed us his grills and tractors he has for tractor pulling!! Then we had the high light of the week!! We had a lesson with a man named James!! And missionaries have talked with him in the past but they were always short intervals of the missionaries uplift him and then he would comment, then he would be invited to church, and then they would say a prayer and leave. We actually TAUGHT HIM!!!! And when we were talking he could tell we were being sincere! And when we were talking about the Book of Mormon he got excited to go in an read it and test Moroni's promise!! And he said if he finds this to be true he will be baptized!!! YAY!!!!!! That was THE BEST lesson Elder Horning and I have had since we have been together and it was THE BEST lesson I have had since I have been here!!! It lifted our spirits high!! And all the way home I was praising Heavenly Father!! It was the best!!!
I am reading in 2 Nephi 20-21 and honestly I am not getting much from Isaiah. haha! But I will keep reading!! Thank y'all some much for your prayers and the encouragement I get from y'all! I love each and everyone of you who are reading this!!!!
Until next week I bid Ado!
Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

Cameron's Letter Oct 3, 2011

Dear Family and Friends!
Umm please send it when Conference is available :) I didn't get to see the first 30ish minutes of the first session because there was a miscommunication as to the setting up of the tv in the Chapel. We just watched it at our church building. The Saturday afternoon session we watched at an investigators house, and the Sunday afternoon session we watched at a members house (The Gilberts) and then we had dinner with them! Yeah that was a surprise! We could hear everyones reaction! :) President Monson is the greatest!!!

Sounds like y'all have had a busyish week! Too bad Laura isn't going to be playing basketball :'( That's good that you and dad are feeling better!!! :) Well I guess you had to start Christmas shopping eventually!! What did you get me? I bet it's something great!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BYU WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It should have been by alot more!! Hopefully BYU will learn from this and progress and become better!!!!

I loved conference!!! I can't wait to listen or read Elder Scott's talk!! I missed that one and Sister Thompsons talks! My favorite session was the Priesthood session!! It was great!!! I loved all the talks!!!
Oh!!!! Before I forget, could you give me the recipe for yucky stuff? I wanna make it!! It's been too long since I had some of that wonderfully delicious nectar!!

I would love a case!! But next week are transfers and I will find out if I will be transferred or not. I will let you know next week. The actual transfer is October 12th so it should be enough time before my birthday to send my package!!! :)

This week was better than the past few weeks! Things are starting to move along!! I finished the Book of Mormon Wed or Thurs and I have started again! And As I was reading in 1 Nephi I discovered something that I thought I would have for sure marked that, so I looked in my quad to see if I marked it and I didn't!!!! It was when Nephi was recieving his vision! And how he saw a TON of things!! I can't believe that I didn't see that before, talking about the Revolutionary War, and other wars, and the scattering of the seed of Laman (the American Indians!!!) And a couple other things!!! It is just amazing to see that we can always find something new when we read in the Book of Mormon!!!
Another cool experience this week was when we taught an investigator named George. When we walked in he said that he couldn't be a mormon because he couldn't understand the 3 kingdoms of glory. Good thing we were planning on teaching the Plan of Salvation!! After we taught it he understand it better! We showed him the verses in the bible about the 3 kingdoms and he said that he had read the Bible before but when he read those verses it never occured to him that is there was a "third heaven" that there had to be a first and second! But afterwards he said that he understanded it better!! YAY!!!
And then of course we watched conference! It was great!!
Well that does it for this week! I love you all! And I can't wait for next week!!
Love,
Elder Cameron Williams

Cameron's Letter Sept 26, 2011

Dear Family and Friends!!!
I am very gratful that President Jensen let me call home! Hopefully I won't have to call home for anything else until Christmas (which is coming up quickly!!! )
Sounds like y'all had a funish week haha! I'm glad that BYU and Westlake won!!!! BYU will do great against Utah State this week!!!
That's good that President Hughes had a really good turnout for his funeral! He was definately loved!!!
Tell Grandma Williams Happy Birthday from ME!!!!!

Nothing new has happened with Nathan and Candice, we are going to try and see them this week and invite them to General Conference! Nathan showed an interest in seeing the prophet of today! So hopefully that will get him to come!
Elder Horning still is getting little dizzy spells but he is trying to work through them!

This week was very slow unfortunately :( bad weather keeps us in, our car is opened to the sky so we are doing our best not to make it sucomb to more rain! And riding our bikes or walking in the rain isn't very smart to do :( so yeah, that kept us in for about 2 days and we had zone conference on tuesday! We got Septembers and Octobers Ensigns and I thouroughly love Octobers!!! I'm gonna read it again when I am done and I am going to read all the scriptures that show up in it!!! After zone conference we did a tradeoff with Elder Brown (DL) and Elder Chapman. This time I went with Elder Brown in Douglas. It was a good tradeoff, except that Elder Horning and Elder Chapman were stuck inside pretty much the whole time!
I am doing very well with my Book of Mormon reading! I am on Ether 3!! I'm fixing to be done with it by the end of the week and then I am going to start again!! It's gonna be fun!!! I really am loving reading the Book of Mormon! And reading the Oct Ensign is increasing my desires to read it in a new light!!! I LOVE it!!!! And General Conference is this weekend!! We are SOOOO excited for it!!!!! But that's pretty much this week :( sorry it's so short!
I can't believe that I trun 20 in a month and 3 days!?!?! I'm excited!!!!!
Well I think I will leave y'all with that! I love y'all very much (everyone reading this)!!!

Love,
Elder Cameron Williams
